A concise presentation of the Gospel

Many lack a confidence in sharing the Gospel. Just knowing how or refreshing yourself on how is very helpful.  Below you will find a very straightforward progression with scripture backing to help you gain confidence!

Before starting it is important to remember a few things:

-We will never save anyone, we are called to proclaim the good news.

-You did not save yourself Jesus did, remember that.

-Commit it to prayer, spend time in prayer there is so much power in prayer.

-People may get caught up in the debate of theological points but getting to heart of the inner desire is how Jesus dealt with the woman at the well in John 4.  Her never ending thirst was quenched by Jesus so that she would never thirst again.  Man’s inner desire is to know God and to seek God but that desire is often filled with things of this world.

God loves you –

1 John‬ ‭4:8-10‬ “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

God hates sin –

Psalms‬ ‭5:5 “The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers.”‬

Even if you think you are “good” –

Proverbs‬ ‭21:2‬ “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.”‬

You haven’t been perfect –

1 John‬ ‭1:8 “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”‬

No created man has been perfect –

Romans‬ ‭3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”‬

Your sin has separated you from God –

Isaiah‬ ‭59:2‬ “but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.”‬

The payment for your sin is death and hell –

Romans‬ ‭6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”‬

But there is good news –

Luke‬ ‭2:10-11 “And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

A perfect substitute can make your payment –

1 John‬ ‭3:5 “You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.”

God loves you so much –

John‬ ‭3:16“”For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”‬

That He gave Jesus as your substitute –

2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:21 “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”‬

Through Christ death –

Romans‬ ‭4:24-25 “but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.”

You can have eternal life –

1 John‬ ‭5:11-12 “And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

By Jesus’s resurrection death was defeated –

John‬ ‭11:25 “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,”

This is a free gift –

Ephesians‬ ‭2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,”

You could never deserve or earn it –

Galatians‬ ‭2:16‬ “yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.”

Just by repenting and receiving it –

Romans‬ ‭10:13‬ “For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.””

Your sins will be forgiven and forgotten –

Psalms‬ ‭103:12 “as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.”

You will be reconciled to God –

2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:18 “All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;”

And live with Him forever in heaven –

John‬ ‭5:22 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”‬
